Controller and contact details
The controller of personal data collected through the BYOL website is MATRIX d.o.o., Osek 06, SI-5261 Šempas, Slovenia. For personal data enquiries, write to byol@siol.net.
What data and for which purposes
Browsing
To deliver pages, the server receives technical information such as IP address, requested resource, date and browser details. The purpose is to make the site available and protect it from abuse; the intended legal basis is legitimate interest in its operation and security under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Information requests
The form processes your name, email, company, optional country, product and message in the browser to prepare an email. It does not automatically send content to MATRIX d.o.o. Sending occurs only when you do so from your email application; the copy command transfers text to your device’s clipboard.
MATRIX d.o.o. manages byol@siol.net internally. When it receives your email, it processes data to answer your enquiry and manage any business relationship. The intended legal basis is pre-contractual steps at your request where applicable (Article 6(1)(b)), or legitimate interest in answering business communications (point (f)). The requested data identifies the enquiry and allows a response; without contact details, we cannot contact you.
Do not use the form to send health data, identity documents or other sensitive information. Contact details are used to answer enquiries and manage any business relationship, not to send newsletters or promotional communications.
Analytics and company identification
Optional services are activated only after your consent.
When enabled, Google Analytics measures page views, interactions with products, documents and videos, country and device. The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)). The Google Analytics tracker excludes form content and sends URLs without parameters or fragments. Analytics identifiers may still be personal data: we do not describe these statistics as fully anonymous.
You can refuse without restricting site access and withdraw consent through “Cookie preferences”. No automated decisions with legal effects are provided. Advertising features are disabled in Google Analytics. Prepared or opened emails do not confirm sending.
If you accept optional services, Apollo measures visits and helps identify companies interested in BYOL products for commercial purposes. The tracker may send Apollo the full visited and referring URLs, technical data about the browser and visit and identifiers, including any email hashes obtained through partners. The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
How long data is kept
The form does not save content in a site archive. Your email application, clipboard and any autofill functions remain under the control of your device and the services you use.
For information enquiries that do not lead to an order, MATRIX d.o.o. keeps correspondence for up to 24 months after closure, then deletes it. If a business relationship arises, necessary data is kept for its duration and the further periods required by applicable obligations. Orders, invoices and disputes follow their respective retention duties and documented needs to protect rights. Hosting log and email backup retention periods still need verification to complete this notice.
The cookie choice is kept for 180 days. The configuration limits Google Analytics cookies to 180 days without automatic renewal on each visit. GA4 user and event data retention is set to 2 months without reset on new activity. This is separate from cookie duration and does not apply to most standard aggregated reports.
The 180-day limit applies to the choice saved by BYOL and to Google Analytics cookies; it does not guarantee the retention period of storage and data kept by Apollo and its partners. Some partner identifiers may last up to two years. Consult the providers’ policies for their retention conditions; verification of the applicable conditions remains incomplete.
Providers and transfers
Within MATRIX d.o.o., correspondence and the analytics dashboard are accessible only to authorised internal staff. This access is distinct from processing performed by technical providers to deliver their services.
The site uses Vercel for hosting, content delivery and the dashboard service; Google Analytics for optional statistics, only after consent. The email technical provider and related agreements still need confirmation. Contracting entities, roles, locations and safeguards for any transfers outside the European Economic Area under Chapter V GDPR still need verification. Service documentation: Vercel data processing agreement, Google Analytics data processing terms and Google privacy policy.
Apollo provides the optional service for visit analysis and company identification for commercial purposes. The tracker may also activate technologies from its partner LiveIntent to identify visitors, always after consent. The providers’ conditions are described in Apollo privacy policy and in LiveIntent privacy policy. Verification of roles, contracts and safeguards for any transfers remains incomplete.
Hosted videos are served directly by this site. The YouTube link opens an external site only when selected: no YouTube player is embedded in the page. That service’s terms then apply.
