Anti-spatter protection
Reduces adhesion of welding spatter and cutting slag. Matrix states protection lasting up to 8 hours with one application per shift.
BYOL technology
BYOL’s anti-spatter formulation is designed to protect torches, workpieces and cutting tables with an entirely plant-based, biodegradable base.

Matrix presents BYOL as a plant-based solution without petroleum derivatives or hazardous or regulated substances. The aim is to combine surface protection, work continuity and care for the environment.

MIG/MAG, electrode and robotic welding; laser and plasma cutting. The range includes dedicated products for different applications and surfaces.
Biodegradability is part of BYOL’s offering. For BYOL-PRO, Matrix refers to OECD 301B testing for ready biodegradability of the natural-oil formulation.
Protection reduces the work needed during and after processing: less build-up to remove, fewer stops and longer life for treated surfaces.
Less adhering spatter on the torch and workpiece, less cleaning, downtime and spare-part use. Matrix states that BYOL does not affect the weld pool.
The protective barrier on the table reduces slag adhesion, helps extend surface life and lowers maintenance costs.
BYOL-PRO combines cooling, lubrication and EP properties. Recommended dilutions are 3%, 4% and 5%, depending on the process.
Operator health is central to BYOL’s offering. Matrix states that the product emits no toxic vapours and that BYOL-R contains no mutagenic, carcinogenic or irritating components.
These statements concern the formulation: they do not mean welding is free from fumes or risks. Consult each product’s safety data sheet for conditions of use and protective measures.
